I’ve taken a good bit of time off this summer.
Between travel, surgery, and just needing white space on my calendar, it has totaled three weeks.
That’s three weeks I wasn’t sitting at my desk working, coaching, creating or otherwise working in my business.
Three weeks I wasn’t responding to emails or taking calls.
Three weeks where I didn’t do anything that didn’t delight me, nourish me, take care of me, or simply bring me joy.
When I decided to take this time off, the first thought my brain offered me was:
Ugh … what will your clients think?
The second thought that bulldozed in immediately after the first:
You are going to lose a lot of money by not working.

- Living a balanced life is a legitimate, money-making business strategy. If I want to grow my business, I have to take care of myself.
- If I don’t take care of myself, I won’t have much to offer the clients I cherish so much. They will be better served because I took this time to nurture myself.
- I am meant to be an example of what is possible for my clients. So, I need to go be that example.
- I am safe to step away from my business and enjoy my life.
