Let me guess … you started your business to create freedom. But instead, you’re feeling like an overworked employee of your own company.
Why? If you are like most entrepreneurs, it could be because you treat every idea, message, request and “opportunity” as though it is urgent.
This constant pressure keeps you in reactive mode and pulls you away from long-term strategy. So you never get into the focus, finish repeat cycle.
Here’s how to get out of the habit of reacting to ugency:
1. Practice the 3D Filter: Dream, Decide, Do
- Dream: Keep a running list of ideas.
- Decide: Once a week, review the list and choose what fits your strategy.
- Do: Commit to implementing no more than 1-2 ideas a month.
2. Use the 4-Week Strategy Sprint
Set a simple monthly strategy. For example:
- Week 1: Create/plan content
- Week 2: Focus on visibility
- Week 3: Follow-up and sales
- Week 4: Evaluate and rest
This helps you resist the urge to pivot every time a new idea shows up.
3. Try the “Triage Test”
When something new pops up, ask:
- Does this directly support my current goals?
- Does it have to happen right now?
If the answer to either is no, park it for later.
4. Remember: Clarity Is Kind (Even to Yourself)
You don’t have to act on every idea today. You just have to stay clear on what matters this month. That’s how real growth happens.
Final Thought:
Freedom doesn’t come from chasing urgency. It comes from choosing what matters most—and trusting yourself to follow through.
