Truth time – there’s this little voice inside of me that used to tell me I don’t fit in.
It would say things like:
“You’re too tall.”
“You’re too big.”
“You’re too loud.”
“You’re never going to get picked.”
“Don’t do it / don’t go / don’t try.”
This voice was trying to protect me from the sting of not feeling “good enough.” Even though it was trying to help, it ultimately kept me safe and small – preventing me from trying new things and taking healthy risks.
I spent so much time trying to fit the mold, I failed to realize that I am the mold.
There is EXACTLY one of me in the universe.
There is EXACTLY one person who possesses my unique gifts, skills, abilities and life experiences.
And, the same goes for you. Every human being has the “I’m not good enough” soundtrack hardwired in our brains. You literally cannot have the human experience without that voice in your head.
Your soundtrack might be different from mine. It might sound like, “You aren’t attractive enough,” “you aren’t smart enough,” “you aren’t lovable enough,” or any other version.
Guess what – you are ENOUGH. Just like I am ENOUGH. Once you embrace your enough-ness and stop trying to fit a mold that never really existed, I promise you life will start to deliver in ways you never expected.
